Amazing Lash Franchise Expands to South Tampa
SOUTH TAMPA — Jeff Tolrud opened the doors to his third Amazing Lash Studio franchise earlier this month, this time in South Tampa.
Once the lashes are applied, it eliminates the need for mascara and other eye makeup.
"I think Amazing Lash Studio stands out with the training we go through, the sterilization of products and the application is propriety. The lashes are applied to each individual eyelash with a pharmaceutical grade adhesive," said Tolrud, who previously opened locations in Carrollwood and Brandon. "We're truly on the forefront of the industry."
The concept was founded in 2010 by Vietnamese couple Edward and Jessica Le.
They originally moved to Houston, where they obtained degrees as echocardiogram and vascular technicians, which led to employment at St. Luke's Hospital. After settling into their hospital and home life with a new baby, Jessica decided to pursue one of her passions and entered the beauty industry.
There she became enthralled with eyelash extensions and eventually created her own web site, gaining clientele.
In 2010, Edward negotiated for the first Amazing Lash Studio location, which consisted of 300 square feet. Just enough space for three tables.
When they opened a second location in 2011, they had 2,300 square feet with 18 rooms.
By 2012, their franchise company was created.
"When customers walk in, the studios have the same look and feel throughout the country," Tolrud said. "The nice thing is if you're traveling and want to use one in Texas or wherever, you can do that."
Tolrud who has lived in Tampa for 40 years, spent 35 of those operating other franchises such as GNC, Color Me Mine and Massage Envy, while also working as a commercial realtor.
An official grand opening will take place in about a month at 1155 S Dale Mabry Highway in the Palms Plaza.
